Written by: Harbour Heights SDA Communication | Monday, June 28, 2021

On Sunday June 27, 2021, the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Harbour Heights launched their Buildathon dubbed “Operation 4.5” with the aim of garnering $4,500,000 Jamaican dollars which is approximately 30,000 US dollars. The duration of Operation 4.5 Buildathon will be one (1) year, from June 27, 2021 to June 27, 2022.

Brief History

The Harbour Heights Seventh-Day Adventist Church began its journey as a small group in 2009. From then until now the church is still searching for a place to call home. This small group without a place to call home worshipped at nights in the home of individuals and it is from there the group was able to become a part of the Metro Mission 14 (MM14) campaign. After the campaign, the group got larger and continued to worship without a home; but nevertheless, was able to rent a tent hence the tent cathedral was formed. The tent cathedral became the new home and the group never lost hope but continued worshipping rain or shine.

Present Condition

The Harbour Heights Seventh-Day Adventist Church is still on the mission field with a hope. Currently service is conducted in a wooden structure on a plot of land that is rented. Even with this structure we still maintain a tent for children sabbath school. The wooden structure is currently being eaten by termites. The church needs a place to call home.
