The Trench Town SDA Church erupted in appreciation when Dr. Donna Brown, Education Director in East Jamaica Conference shared the good news that five year old Dakarai Williams of Trench Town SDA Basic School would be awarded a scholarship to attend Kingsway Prep. School at the beginning of the next school year.

Several community members left the comfort of their homes to listen to the sermon and receive prayers during Street Meeting. The hot and sunny day which characterized Sabbath afternoon of February 18, 2017, did not deter the Youth from evangelizing in the Torrington Park Community. They marched to the venue and distributed magazines and tracts, house to house. They also collected names of persons who wished to be prayed for or be visited for Bible Studies.

The event was the first in the series of four Vegetarian Seminars held at the Heroes Circle Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sunday, February 19, 2017, targeting the community and members of Zone 1, in particular, as well as other churches. The other Seminars will be held on March 5, 26 and on April 16, 2017 at 3:30 pm.

The baton for the top leadership of the Elders’ Association in East Jamaica Conference was passed to Elder Vermont Murray of the Andrews Memorial SDA Church at the last elders’ association meeting held at the Conference Office on Sunday February 19, 2017. Murray was voted to serve as president of the body and will serve in this position for the next two years according to the constitution along with the newly elected team.
