Thirty-one males from August Town Seventh-day Adventist church went on a fishing expedition at Port Royal in Kingston from Saturday night (June 30) to Sunday morning (July 1). This special trip was organised by the church’s Men’s Ministry Department as the culminating activity for Boys-Men week held June 24-30, 2018.

The spirit of courage, bravery and sacrifice was recognized by the leadership of the Whitehall Avenue SDA Church on July 1, 2018 when a Merrick Hall, a member of the Whitehall community was presented with a plaque and citation for risking his life to save the home of a community member which was engulfed in fire on May 4, 2018.

On the Sabbath afternoon of June 16, 2018 the August Town Family Life Ministries Department staged a renewal of marriage vows ceremony under the theme Built to Last. This was the second of such ceremony held at the church with the previous one held ten years ago. The rarity of the ceremony gave it a sense of high importance.

The Education Department of the Andrews Memorial SDA Church, held its very first “Father’s Day” Brunch on Sunday June 17, 2018. The event was hosted at the Sky Lounge, of the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC). It was a multifaceted one; allowing the Education Department to honor the fathers and also to expand their ‘scholarship programme to more than one recipient at the church.
