At the last Executive Committee Meeting held on February 21, 2023, President of East Jamaica Conference, Pastor Meric Dale Walker recommended new changes to the pastoral arrangement to fulfill the mission of the Conference.
The recommendations were subsequently voted and accepted by the Executive Committee and will take effect on March 11, 2023.
The new changes are as follows :-
Pastor Andre Clarke who currently serves as pastor of the Macedonia District of churches will assume leadership of the Morant Bay District of Churches and be the zone leader for the churches in St. Thomas (Zone 4).
His relocation from the Macedonia District of churches will create a vacancy which will be filled by Pastor Sheldon Schooler who currently serves as Director of Community Services and pastor of the Grace SDA Church.
The Grace Church will be realigned with the Half Way Tree SDA Church and Pastor Ryandro Brown will now be the pastor for both churches.
Pastor Schooler will continue as Director for Community Services even as he assumes the new role of District Pastor for the Macedonia district of Churches. He will however be assisted by Associate Pastor Mickel Allen who currently serves as pastor of the Spanish Church located on the grounds of the Andrews Memorial SDA Church.
The vacancy created by the reassignment of Pastor Allen will be filled by Pastor Owen Thomas, who in addition to being pastor of the Washington Gardens District of Churches, will assume leadership of the Spanish Church.
