Nine members of the Arnold Road SDA Church including four elders, two deacons, and three deaconesses, were set apart for service in the work of Christ at a special service of ordination at the church on October 4, 2024. The service was planned to commence the special weekend of celebrations to mark the church’s 25th Anniversary.
Elders ordained include Andre Brooks, Gweneta Hunter, Kadia Julye, and Janiel Salmon. Those ordained for the office of deacons include Norman Clarke and Dean Salmon while those ordained to the office of deaconesses include Marlet Gayle, Faye Pennant, and Careta Turner.
The ordination service was conducted by pastors Melvin Francis, Executive Secretary, EJC, Alanzo Whyte, Ministerial Secretary, EJC, Howard Smith, pastor of the North Street and Arnold Road District and Ralston Tyrell, pastor of the Penwood District of churches while the charge to the ordinands was given by Pastor Donald C. Francis, pastor of First SDA Church of Paterson, New Jersey.
