The Rollington Town Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Community Services Department staged its annual banquet on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Vineyard Town Methodist Church Hall.
Under the leadership of Kaydean Murray Hutton, the department, assisted by several church members, catered to senior citizens of the church and community, shuts-ins, persons in need, residents of the Golden Age Home and children from the Reddie’s Home of Safety.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the first banquet being held since December 2019. From 2020 to 2022, meals, gifts and care packages of non-perishable items were prepared and distributed throughout the community.
The meals for this year’s banquet were prepared and served by members of the department and other church members. The approximately 70 persons who attended also received gift bags, cake and bottles of non-alcoholic wine. The attendees were very appreciative and enjoyed the event, which included a carol sing-along and musical items from attendees. Fifty meals, gift bags and non-alcoholic wine were delivered to persons who were unable to attend.
All praise and thanks to God for allowing the department to successfully plan and execute this event. The department also thanks all who contributed, assisted and participated in one way or the other for the church to support the community.
