The Sandy Park SDA Church hosted “Emeralds Chapeau Tea Party” in celebration of Senior Citizens month and National Grandparents Day. This included seniors from the church as well as the community, held Sunday, September 29, 2024.

The elegant affair was a tremendous success as the “Emeralds”(seniors) were reminded of how much they are valued. There contribution to both church and society was held in high esteem and the appreciation and love for our “Emeralds” was expressed in the form of a classy english tea party.

As they were dressed in their hats, fascinators and lace gloves, this ignited the playful, spontaneous and fun side of our Gems, making them feel as special as they truly are. Opening prayer and welcome was done by our very own Pastor Dane Ferguson and First Elder Carlton Dillon. The program commennced with our delightful hosts Elder Stacy Mitchell and Wayne Grant and a series of activities captivated the attention of our honoured guest and created an air of excitement. There was also a wide variety of teas, delicate finger food, fruit bowls, dessert and punch along with prizes and surprizes as gestures of appreciation and special gifts.

Our “Emeralds” were serenaded by several talented guest singers and there was also soothing music conducted by our very own Elder Donovan Thomas. There was also a photo op wall beautifully decorated for persons to capture their special moment. The parking lot was transformed into a garden of paradise with decorations done by our very own members of the ACS Department, the Campbell’s family. Accolades were given to our “Emeralds” by Pastor Sheldon Schooler and Pastor Phillip Castell followed by a special toast given by Elder Lorna Fowler for their service and dedication over the years and urged them to continue to pass on the wisdom and knowledge for those who will follow.
