The Adventist Youth department of the King’s Chapel SDA Church continues to inspire its surroundings as it shares the gospel. In helping to Break the Evangelistic Glass Ceiling on Sabbath February 12, 2022, AY Leader Sis. Ashley Brown with approximately 30 church members and visiting friends marched their way to the intersection of South Camp Road and Victoria Avenue in Kingston to do a 'Stoplight Ministry'.
When the traffic light turned red, the youth approached motorists and issued mini stoplights intended to be hung as rear-view mirror décor. The mini stoplights displayed a message for each colour, Red: ‘Stop & Pray’, Yellow: ‘Slow to Anger’ and Green: ‘Go with God’, to serve as a reminder and an encouragement to drivers and passengers.
Joshua 1:9, which states, “Have I not told you? Be strong and have strength of heart! Do not be afraid or lose faith. For the Lord your God is with you anywhere you go,” was printed at the back of the mini-stoplight bookmarks as a word of encouragement for such trying times.
Adventist literature and words of hope were shared with motorists and passers-by. Members of the church even informed persons to tune into the Footprints of Hope Evangelistic series on YouTube and those that requested prayer were prayed for by the youth.
Motorist stopped to inquire about the mini stoplights that we had given out the last time we conducted the stoplight ministry. One even waited after the light turned green just so he could receive another mini stoplight to hang in his car.
To conclude the evening's activities, we held a vesper service and to our surprise, a cyclist stopped to join in the worship session.
