Dr. Meric Walker Elected to Serve as EJC President 2022-2026

After prayerful contemplation and discussion, the delegates of the East Jamaica Conference have elected Dr. Meric Walker to serve as EJC president for 2022-2026.

After prayerful contemplation and discussion, the delegates of the East Jamaica Conference have elected Dr. Meric Walker to serve as EJC president for 2022-2026. The decision came at the end of the first day of the  Sixth Quadrennial Conference Session being held at the Kencot SDA church, June 19 -20, 2022. 

 

Dr. Walker previously served the East Jamaica Conference administration as Secretary during the years 2014 - 2015, before answering the call to serve as Executive Secretary at the Jamaica Union. 

 

In response to the news of his election, Pastor Walker thanked the delegation for the confidence they placed in him and saluted outgoing president, Pastor Eric Nathan for his stellar contribution during his tenure. He affirmed his acceptance, adding,  “I know by the grace of God, we will work together, to care for each other and to do mission…to blaze a trail and to have the church on the cutting edge.”

 

President of the Jamaica Union of Seventh-day Adventists, Pastor Everett Brown, Division, Union and Conference directors also extended congratulations to the incoming president in a pledge of their support of his leadership during the upcoming tenure.
