Thursday October 3, 2024 marked an exciting new chapter for the Hagley Park Preparatory School with the official launch of the INSPIRE Pathfinder’s Club.

The event was made even more special with the presence of guest speaker, Pastor Joel Jumpp, Youth Ministries Director of the East Jamaica Conference. In his inspiring address, Pastor Jumpp emphasized the importance of youth involvement in positive, character-building activities. During his presentation, he encouraged the students to watch as he asked two members of the club to demonstrate the versatility of the scarf which forms a part of their uniform in a first aid exercise. They made head ties/wraps and arm slings in the case of someone being hurt. “These skills”, he said “are just a few that you will learn in the club to grow not only as individuals but as contributing members to your school and community”.

The INSPIRE Pathfinder Club will help students develop leadership skills, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility through community service, outdoor activities, and spiritual growth. As part of a worldwide network, the Pathfinder movement is committed to nurturing the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of young people. The launch of the INSPIRE Pathfinder Club represents a new opportunity for the students of Hagley Park Prep to learn life skills, develop spiritually, and build lasting friendships. Teachers and staff expressed their excitement for the club's future, while Principal, Dr. Paulene Betten encouraged the students to commit to being better versions of themselves.

With Pastor Jumpp's inspiring message setting the tone, the INSPIRE Pathfinder Club is poised to become a cornerstone of the school’s commitment to developing well-rounded and responsible young individuals. “Let’s inspire to go higher!” he said.
